The public can enjoy a tour of Arab-American owned businesses related to the food industry, which is organized by the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The museum even published maps locating Arab-American grocers, restaurants, bakeries and many other places for visitors who want to explore more of these businesses in the Dearborn area. [caption id="attachment_3493" align="alignleft" width="300"]Capture The tour will take you to Arab-owned businesses where you can get a behind-the-scenes tour[/caption] The "Yalla Eat!" culinary walking tours enable the public to join twice weekly. Visitors are taken through the market and shown the diversity of our businesses, while also given the history of Arab-Americans in the metro Detroit area. They can meet and chat with the owners, sample some of their food and do loads of shopping. Tickets are available to the public at $20 each and museum members receive the discounted price of $15. Included in the price is not only the guided walking tour but also a "Yalla Eat" tote bag, the culinary map and plenty of samples of the delicious food. Tours last two hours, starting at 10.am. on Saturdays and one p.m. on Tuesdays. It is essential that tickets are purchased in advance. The map also gives readers a brief look at the history of these businesses and highlights a great selection of the established Arab-American grocery stores, produce markets, restaurants, meat markets, spice, nut and coffee sellers and the local sweet shops to visit.
